Sensitization Programmes

Orientation and sensitization programmes are an ongoing endeavor at ADAPT’S Colaba and Bandra centre and include a tour of the school services, films about ADAPT and an open discussion about the goals of the organization. Students from mainstream schools and colleges visit ADAPT’S centers throughout the year, in order to interact with our students and develop an awareness of inclusion and its special needs.

Continuum of Support Services

A Continuum of Support involves the maintenance of follow up services for programmes initiated in our schools. The Continuum of Support is aimed at facilitating the smooth transition and progress of students into mainstream education. This aspect of inclusive education, also helps to create awareness and sensitization for the disabled students and the community at large , by including within its fold :

  • Children and youth with disabilities and their families
  • Mainstream schools – management, staff, peers,
  • Parent teacher associations
  • The neighborhood
  • Service Organizations such as the Lions Club and Rotary Club
  • Public and Private service providers
